Our Veterans

Our veterans have paid a heavy price for our country. Many of us at SOVAH are Veterans and all of us have a heart for helping those who have done so much for us. Our Veterans are strong men and women, many of whom are struggling with benefits, healthcare, relationships, or even housing. We are working hard to resolve the issues for our Veterans.

 

Serving Our Veterans At Home is assists Veterans in several ways.

Here are some of the highlights:

• Organize, Plan, and Fund annual Marion/Polk County Stand Down which provides much needed services and gear to over 300 hundred veterans.

• Created and hosts weekly Veteran group called "Battle Buddies" to provide a safe place for veterans to connect or access local resources.

• Distributes over 100 daily bus passes annually to veterans to support employment, social service appointments, basic needs, and more.

• Conduct outreach and connect countless veterans to available services in the community.
